A conventional series of naphtha splitter columns will be converted into a single Dividing Wall Column — lifting processing capacity by more than 40%.
DWC Innovations has been awarded a project at a major Indian refinery to debottleneck the feed preparation unit serving the Continuous Catalytic Reforming (CCR) and Isomerization units.
The revamp involves converting a conventional series of naphtha splitter columns into a single Dividing Wall Column (DWC) configuration, enabling a more efficient and streamlined separation process. By leveraging DWC technology, the refinery will significantly enhance its feed preparation capabilities while maximizing the utilization of existing assets. The retrofit is expected to deliver a capacity increase of more than 40%, helping the refinery meet growing production demands without the need for major additional infrastructure.
What the Revamp Delivers
- More than 40% increase in processing capacity
- Improved feed quality to the CCR and Isomerization units
- Enhanced separation efficiency through Dividing Wall Column technology
- Reduced energy consumption compared to conventional multi-column systems
- Lower capital expenditure through retrofit of existing equipment
- Improved overall refinery profitability and operational flexibility
This award further demonstrates DWC Innovations’ expertise in refinery process optimization and its ability to deliver high-impact debottlenecking solutions that increase throughput.
