A first-of-its-kind Dual Dividing Wall Column revamp will let a Southeast Asian refinery produce four product streams — including food/polymer grade hexane — from a single Deisohexanizer shell.
DWC Innovations has been awarded a revamp project at a major Southeast Asian refinery to upgrade its C5/C6 Isomerization Unit and enable the production of an additional Food/Polymer Grade Hexane product stream.
This first-of-its-kind advanced distillation project will utilize Dual Dividing Wall Column (DDWC) technology to produce four distinct product streams within the refinery’s existing Deisohexanizer column. By incorporating DDWC technology, the revamped column will consolidate the functionality of four conventional distillation columns into a single column shell, significantly improving process efficiency and asset utilization. The innovative retrofit allows the refinery to expand its product slate while minimizing capital investment and maintaining the existing column infrastructure.
